My fellow staffers on the college newspaper called me Flipper, insinuating my unique laugh was akin to the loveable TV dolphin. But to be honest, I was quite flattered. Dolphins were water-loving creatures, and so was I.

The Psych Sheet is a look at competitive swimming in Colorado from the eyes of a proud swim mom who growing up was a competitive swimmer herself for 11 years. Although I wasn’t fast – not anywhere near it -- what I lacked in speed, I made up for with a love of the sport.
